So I owe everybody an apology. Myself, my subscribers, and my pictures. I got so caught up recently with a critical realization that my wallet is almost completely empty. I needed to figure out what I was doing and what I did with my year away from school. Pretty much, I needed to apply to jobs constantly, and study for the GRE (which went well) just in case I got accepted and I could get my student loan payments deferred...again. This post is pretty much going to be a bunch of random pictures that I managed to take. I must admit however, I failed at my 365 project. I will try again though =] This was a shot glass filled with water (I'm not sure why it looks carbonated though..) and 1 or 2 drops of red food coloring. It made a pretty cool smokey look effect. We had a potluck one weekend, and a person brought this. It's kind of a neat concept if you think about it. Reduce use of plastic water bottles and use these instead. I wonder how much more "green" this actually is. Yay STI hat =] And one of my friends taught me how to play basket ball =] Thanks Zeke! While walking around Balboa Island, my friend and I came across many supercars/fancy cars. This is a Fisker Karma. 03/18/2012 Messing around with the camera 03/20/2012 - We slept all day because we drove all morning (left at 1 am). No picture. 03/21/2012 - Jet lag...sorta. No picture. 03/23-24/2012 - Pure laziness/really wanted to bake. no picture. =[ This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.
03/12/2012 Coconut Cream Puffs. Puffs of heavenly deliciousness. Recipe posted in my dessert section. 03/13/2012 Black Puma. Simple. _ 03/15/2012 NO PICTURE & NO EXCUSE! SADDDDDDDDD 03/16/2012 This is how I spent my Friday. 6 hours on a rainy freeway. 03/17/2012 The reason for my long car ride. Kilusan Pilipino's 16th annual PCN! Alex was the official photographer, and I was the last minute videographer. For better pictures, see his. GREAT JOB KILUSAN! YOU DO US PROUD! 3/6/2012 Why hello there orange monkey. It looks like you're enjoying hangin' in there. How useful you are to peel the carrots, potatoes, and cucumbers. You have made cooking a swing in the trees. 3/7/2012 An empty gym...just before closing. After a long day of helping the fighters w/ their sponsors, I was able to fit a little photo shoot in. 3/8/2012 ITS TOAD! 3/9/2012 Meet Bertha. She has been with me for almost a year now, yet I haven't given her the recognition she deserves. All of my deserts wouldn't have frosting without this tough cookie. And, she is yellow. MY FAVORITE. 3/10/2012Ok, So I'm going to be honest. I didn't take a picture today. =[ I forgot, so to make it up, I edited a picture that I took in San Diego from a couple months ago. It's a decent picture, but I know it doesn't make up for not taking a picture. I'll do better! I Swear! 3/11/2012 So, I felt really bad that I didn't take a picture yesterday. Today, I put on make up and a pretty dress just to take this picture. For those of you who know me, you know that this is a big feat. I don't normally put on make up, or curl my hair, or put on pretty dresses that often. In fact, this is the first time EVER that I curled my own hair. It came out horrible. Thank goodness for bobby pins to hide the horrible job I did. So, I have been MIA for the past couple days. BUT DONT WORRY! I still took my pictures everyday. =] 3/1/2012 This is Shawna's dad's 32' Ford. He rebuilt it himself, painted it himself, and completely restored this car to an amazing state. It was the highlight of the evening at Imports@CPP. That, and the fact that he took people on joy rides int he back of his car. 3/2/2012 This was the end to my Friday. After succeeding at my first attempt at making Boston Cream Pie (recipe coming soon), and not scrambling the eggs while making the custard, I decided to hang out with some friends. This was also a celebration, in that Sierra's car window was back in its proper place. From left to right: Wyder's Pear Cider, some Stout + Wyder's Pear Cider, Irish Pear (Wyder's Pear Cider + some red ale), Irish Root Beer (Jameson Irish Whiskey + Bailey's Irish Cream + Butterscotch Schnapps + BJ's handcrafted Root Beer). The root beer was DELICIOUS! It tasted like an actual root beer that I would put in my ice cream floats. It would h ave had tasted a little bit better if there had been more whiskey in it, you know, just to give it that kick...and that extra fun ;) 3/3/2012 The beginning of my Saturday. I accompanied Alex and Engineers Without Borders - Cal Poly Pomona Chapter in volunteering with the TreePeople. We went to the Santa Monica Mountains and helped restore an area plowed to prevent wildfires. As time progressed, people have come to realize that the area they had plowed gave way to weeds that were much more susceptible to fires than the native plant species in the area are. In turn, the TreePeople are helping by planting various native plants and restoring habitats to the mountain. It was a very fulfilling experience, and I highly encourage anybody willing to give up 3 hours of their weekend morning to plant a tree, and help new life. In life, there are times that somethings just have to change. In a couple days, my best friend and my only sister is moving across the country. She's starting over, something many people wish they could do in their lives. I'm so proud that she is taking control of her life, but for people here at home, her presence will be missed. This picture is inspired by the journey of my sister, and the journey of my own. Just put your life in Drive.
I've been putting this off for a really really long time. As in, I always tell myself, "at the first of the month I'll start" or "It will happen after new years". It never did. So here I am , at the end of February, starting my 365 project. I must admit, I needed a little push. Recently, Alex lost his D90 during a photo shoot when some guy decided to drive straight into his tripod. It was a sad day. For the past couple of days I've been telling myself to post something, anything, but I make excuses. "The picture of that pie looks nasty", "I didn't make anything worth posting" and the one we all know and love "I'm too lazy". So here. Here is the first picture of my 365 project. It is almost purposefully horrible; that way, I wont have any excuse not to post a picture that I don't think should make the cut. It should be interesting to see how I improve and grow as a photographer. So the long awaited, and much over due, Welcome 365 project. The inspiration from this picture was my day. It started out productive, but then, I kind of just lounged around in my wonderfully bright striped socks.
So...Obviously, even though this blog has been around for a few months, I have neglected the Photography and Cars section of this website. Sad times...But if it makes you feel any better, I have plenty of pretty pictures for your oohhing and ahhhing pleasure in my desserts section. Beware though, they will make you hungry. oh so hungry... But recently, I have been able to be a part of a photo shoot that involved actual people! Props to my friends for allowing me to take pictures of them. I hope you enjoy! Too many funnies guys. Too many.
